About the Conference

The Ohio State University Center for personalized health care invites you to attend its second national conference on Personalized Health Care, October 1-2, 2009. The theme of this year’s conference is “Transforming Health Care Through Personalized Medicine.”

Topics focus on the care delivery model, applications of genetics/genomics in clinical medicine, the latest breakthroughs in science and the challenges of making personalized health care a reality. The conference will bring together academic leaders, industry experts, government policy makers and healthcare providers from around the nation to discuss the latest developments in personalized medicine research and the challenges of translating these discoveries into clinical practice.

BRTThe conference will be held on the first floor auditorium of The Ohio State University Biomedical Research Tower, located at 460 W. 12th Ave., Columbus, Ohio. The 10-story, 403,000-square-foot Biomedical Research Tower (BRT) is the largest biomedical facility in the region and it enables discoveries of innovative, personalized treatments for the benefit of our patients and others around the world. The BRT furthers OSU’s internationally recognized research programs in cancer and cancer genetics, cardiovascular and lung disease and high-field imaging, as well as brings OSU’s biology, biotechnology and biomedical informatics programs to national and international prominence. It will also expand programs in important emerging fields, such as neurological disorders, heart failure and heart imaging, pharmacogenetics and targeted molecular therapies, microbial pathogenesis and biodefense and tissue engineering.
